Whitney True Lawson is a partner with the firm True Guarnieri Ayer, LLP in Frankfort, Kentucky, concentrating in the areas of criminal defense, at both the state and federal level, domestic relations, and administrative law. Whitney also practices at the appellate level in both state and federal courts. She has served as lead and co-counsel in a number of criminal trials, with the last being the successful defense of former University of Kentucky basketball player, Randolph Morris.
Whitney graduated from Transylvania University in 2007, with a B.A. in German, and went on to law school at the University of Louisville, graduating in 2011. She serves as a board member of the Kentucky Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, is an officer in the Criminal Section of the Kentucky Bar Association, and serves as a member of the Public Advocacy Commission.
