Jeff Edwards has served Kentuckians with disabilities at Protection and Advocacy since 1996. His appointment as director was in 2014. He was the program coordinator for the PADD, PATBI and PAVA grants. While at Kentucky P&A, his focus has been the overmedication of children in psychiatric placements, children in out of state placements, transportation, Electro Convulsive Therapy, implementation of a settlement agreement with the Commonwealth of Kentucky to serve people with mental illness in the community, voter education and registration, ADA surveys of public and private facilities, Medicaid, corrections, juvenile justice, people with ID/DD languishing in psychiatric placements and traumatic brain injuries. Prior to working at P&A, he provided direct care in both ICF-ID/DD and ICF-NF, and community settings. He also provided case management and vocational services.
