About me
Emily Holt began her career with the LaGrange Trial Office as a Staff Attorney in May 2021. She spent 2024 in Paducah assisting with staffing shortages before transitioning to the Juvenile Post Disposition Branch. From the start of her time with the public defender’s office, Emily gravitated toward representing children and quickly discovered a deep passion for juvenile advocacy. She is dedicated to challenging practices that harm young people and finding innovative solutions to complex legal issues. Emily earned her law degree from the University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky. In addition to her legal work, she is a certified Bourbon Steward and has a certificate in Bourbon, Distillation, and Wine Studies. Emily is actively involved in animal welfare, serving as a board member for MisPits and Friends Rescue and volunteering with Pets4Life. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her pups, Pepper and Perry.
